Q.1 Where is MIHS located from Islamabad?
Ans:
It is about 30 KMs from Islamabad if we follow Islamabad Highway and enter Bahria Town through PWD colony, OR from Rawalpindi Saddar you have to go towards Lahore by Mall Road / GT Road and as soon as you reach High court building you have to turn towards Bahria Town.

Q.2 How is the weather at Rawalpindi?
Ans:
Weather in summers is hot / humid (maximum 44°C) and cold in winters (minimum 0°C) at Rawalpindi.

Q.3 What is the accreditation status of MIHS?
Ans:
College is recognized by PM&DC for imparting BDS training and is affiliated with University of Health Sciences (UHS) Lahore. It is registered by World Health Organization (WHO).

Q.4 Which hospital is attached with MIHS for teaching purpose?
Ans:
Margalla General Hospital Perwadhai which is a 80 bedded and Margalla Dental Hospital having 100 dental chairs are its affiliated hospitals which are owned by the college itself.

Q.5 Is House job opportunity available at in these hospitals for MIHS graduates?
Ans:
Yes 100 % house job opportunity is available.

Q.6 How many new students are inducted in one academic year?
Ans:
80 students in BDS are inducted in one academic year. Whereas in Pharm-D 50 and B.Sc. Physiotherapy 30 are accommodated every year.

Q.7 What is the distribution of seats for admission in various programs?
Ans:
Distribution of seats in BDS program is as under:-
a. Open Merit: 72
b. Expatriate/Foreign Seats: 08

In all other programs there is no restriction of domicile and all the applications are treated on open merit.

Q.8 What Extra Curricular Activities are available for the students of MIHS?
Ans:
Indoor like Table Tennis and outdoor like Badminton facilities are available at the campus. Sports week and Debate competitions are also arranged for students. Students are encouraged to write articles for College Magazine. Besides this workshops and seminars are also held on health related issues. Every year excursion trips are also arranged.

Q.9 Where is the health cover provided to the students of MIHS?
Ans:
Medical check / treatment to students is provided at our own hospitals.

Q.10 What is the schedule of vacations for the students at MIHS?
Ans:

Summer: Four weeks during Jul
Winter: 08 to 10 days during Dec/Jan

Q.11 What is the criteria for admission against open merit seats?
Ans:
Candidates with minimum 715 FSc marks and has appeared in the latest UHS entrance test are eligible to apply for admission in BDS. Whereas in other programs we take aptitude test.

Q.12 What is the criteria for admission on expatriate seats/foreign seats?
Ans:
Candidates having minimum 715 marks in FSc or equivalent to 715 marks in A levels or equivalent to level 12 of any other country. Equivalence required will be from Inter Board Chairman Committee (IBCC) Islamabad and candidate have either passed MCAT of our university UHS entrance test or have passed SAT II with 550 marks. Their father or guardian is serving abroad are eligible to apply for admission in BDS. Whereas in other programs there is no such restriction.

Q.13 Is it compulsory to appear in the Medical College admission test (MCAT) conducted by UHS to apply for admission?
Ans:
For admission in BDS it is compulsory to appear in the MCAT exam and the entrance test conducted by UHS Lahore during current year or equivalent examination conducted by other provinces or Federal Govt.

Q.14 What is the fee structure for the year 2011-2012?
Ans:
Fee structure for current year is as under:-

Expatriate ..... $ 10,000/- + Rs 90,000/- ...... $ 10,000/-

Q.15 Is hostel facility available for students and what are hostel dues for the current year 2011-2012?
Ans:
Hostel facility is available for girl students and hostel dues for current year are as under:-
a. Single seater (other than for final year students) Rs185,000/-
b. Tri seater (if used as biseater) Rs160,000/-
c. Tri seater Rs145,000/-


Q.16 How many batches have graduated have passed out so far from MIHS?
Ans:
First batch passed out in 2003.

Q.17 Is transport facility available for students coming from Rawalpindi/ Islamabad?
Ans:
Transport facility is available for students coming from Rawalpindi / Islamabad.

Q.18 Does the college provide any scholarship for the students?
Ans:
No financial assistance is available at the moment.
